Gute Bücher, schlechte Bücher 2016

Wenn alle nur immerzu über die besten Fotobücher des Jahres reden, kann man derweil durch Buchhandlungen schlendern und den schlechten Fotobüchern einen Moment Aufmerksamkeit schenken. Das hat Anika für das art Magazin getan, der Text kann hier nachgelesen werden. Jetzt aber schnell zu den erfreulicheren Dingen im Leben, nämlich: gute Bücher, die 2016 wichtig waren oder einfach nur gut sind. Some say Instagram is all about selfies, sunsets, breakfast and pets. Instagram is a filter hell and a wellness heaven, they say. The prejudices stick. But anyone who looks a little further will find Instagrammers, who found their way to photography via the app and its social network. Please tag photos that sum up photography on Instagram for you – they may be photos that are composed for consumption on the small screen of the smartphone display, they may be photos that are part of your visual diary, they may be photos that are visual notes, or they may be photos that you took for likes. Instagram Talks with @tomskipp. Exchanging Photographs in Rwanda

Instagram is all about selfies, sunsets, breakfast and pets, Instagram filter hell and wellness heaven. The prejudices stick. But anyone who looks a little further will find Instagrammers, that found their way to photography via the app and its social network. On a regular basis, we talk to them. Tom Skipp is a Photographer from London, England. He has worked as a Graphic Designer and Art Director, specialising in design for the music industry, working with design legends Peter Saville & Vaughan Oliver on various projects. During that time he created his own imagery through the means of Illustration and Photography. He worked as an Art Director for a charity magazine in Kigali, Rwanda during which he started a collection of photographs. Tom presents a series he photographed while living in Rwanda, East Africa. 21 years after the Genocide, the trauma is hard to understand for an outsider.
